The Franz / Smith Cabin was presented with the 2007 Friends of Preservation award by the City of Fort Collins for exemplary preservation of historic resources. It required both drawings of the existing conditions and a complete structural analysis. Gerou & Associates architectural firm provided construction documents for the preservation of the cabin with periodic reports and meetings on the status of the project.
