From 1996 - 1998 Phil Gerou led a group of underprivileged secondary school students in exploring all facets of the architectural profession. The CABPES program had existed for many years but had never included architecture as part of the offered curriculum. Other classes in advanced math, electrical and civil engineering, and similiar technical fields were each taught by experts in each field. The classes, whiich met twice a month for two hours, featured guest lecturersfrom the AIA Denver chapter, the CU Graduate School of Design faculty and site visits to various projects and architectural firms.
