Ebenezer Girl's Secondary School / Arusha, Tanzania

In 2006, Phil was involved in a three-week mission trip to Arusha, Tanzania to help complete the construction of two classroom buildings for the Ebenezer Girl's Secondary School. The school, formally opened it's doors in 2007 with its first class of Form 1 (8th-grade equivalent) students.  Since then, the school has grown to serve over 400 young girls, many of whom travel great distances every day to attend class. In order to provide for the growing need for classrooms and on-site living arrangements, Gerou & Associates designed a series of dormitory buildings, a matron's home, and an additional classroom building.
